Re: Hand Guard for Model 1899 Carbibe
When you attempt to replace the hand guard, you will need to carefully remove the barreled receiver, also, from the stock before removing the rear sight and mounting the hand guard. I hope that you do have the appropriate barrel band needed for the front of the stock already. So, the stock that you ...

Re: Hand Guard for Model 1899 Carbibe
Olpeddler, You have a neat story about your Krag Model 1899 carbine. Sounds like a nice Krag to own and shoot. The hand guard is obviously a "luxury" and not a necessity to be able to use the firearm. Krags without hand guards look naked to those of us who have collected them for years. ma...

There's a sign in someone's yard close to where we live that says:

I laughed when I saw that!

Re: Ya’ll better jump on this UNALTERED 1898 sight!
I had already been in touch with this seller last week about some other items he's selling. Very nice and he is a Krag collector selling other Krag items. I don't know why he did this but he must have felt bad and took it down. It's still a Model 1898 rifle sight but not worth as much as an unaltere...

Re: Ya’ll better jump on this UNALTERED 1898 sight!
These Model 1898 Krag sights sure are fun to learn about. I'm still studying and learning about them. They are out there but hard to find at reasonable prices today. I missed one on a cheap clunker I was watching recently but was out of town and couldn't bid on it. Also glad I got some a few years a...

Re: Krag rifle in current CMP auction
But, you are right, Moose. There are some good ones out there to buy at excellent prices. You have to know what to look for and, sometimes, see details that others don't. Keep looking and good luck!

Re: Krag rifle in current CMP auction
Ist one on highbid muzzle looks rusted bad into end of barrel. 2nd one is a rifle cut down or barrel changed to 22 inches. Rear sight probably rifle. There are nice ones selling out there. Lots of Krags available. Just have to be picky and watch details especially if you can't handle it in person an...

Re: Krag rifle in current CMP auction
$1200-1300m value. Currently, it would appear, that a "CMP" documentation doubles its value. Not in my book.
