Re: Any US semi-inletted stocks fit Norwegian Krag
Call Mike Kokolus (570) 924-3279. He makes custom stocks and made one for a Norwegian M1912/16 for me. I believe he also has a pattern for the 1894 long rifle. His work is top of the line and if you send him the rifle he will make sure it fits the stock.

Re: new krag owner (sorta), need help
If you want to shoot your Dane much then reloading is the way to go. For the price of two boxes of custom ammo you could probably get set up to reload. The dies would be the biggest expense, CH4d sells them, (can't remember how much though, but more than standard dies) reformed brass from 45-70 is av...

Re: Danish Krag part
That could be a tough pick up!! I've seen a few Danes with out the latch, one of which I own, but don't know why they broke or were removed. I finnaly had my local gunsmith make a replacement. I expected just a simple square stock lever to make it an opperational shooter. What i ended up with was an...

Re: Ruined military collectibility
Well I would say that ther is no evidence to support field repairs of that nature. Replacement stocks were available, and if none were available at that specific time the rifle would have been taken out of service and returned for arsenal repair/refurbishment. The cartouch and serial number indicate...

Re: New to Krags
Jay,
If your serial is an exact match to the New Cumberland Guard I would find that interesting as all other #'s I have seen listed to them are shown as destroyed. Can any one out there tell us exactly how these rifles were "destroyed" by the New Cumberland Guard?

Re: Extractor spring tension
From your description I would have to agree that something is wrong. Either the extractor slot in the bolt sleve is oversized or the extractor is too thin, or possably a combination. Compare with your correct bolt and see what you can find out. Either part is available if you want to keep the bolt a...

Re: Help IDing a Krag
The value would depend on the quality of the sporterization. Probably some where between $150 and $300. Family history has it's own value though!!
Enjoy,

Baltimore Show
Who will be at the Baltimore show??? I'll be wandering around on Sat. wearing my KCA hat searching for the elusive bargins and possibly dragging around a Norwegian M94 rifle to sell/barter.
Hope to see some of you there!
