Hello Tom
Thanks for the details! So how many of those did you buy?! :)
Did any other KCA members, Forum membersor visiters buy any of these firearms?

Re: First Krag...New to everything related

Hello Don,
From your pics your rifle has an '03 Springfield front sight. It appears to be a Bannerman style cut down. Would you give us the barrel length? An original Krag barrel would be 30". If it has been cut down I would say it is in the $200-$300 range depending on the quality of the wo...

Re: Krag bolt

Chris,
Do not fire your Krag in that condition, it is not worth the risk. Replacement bolt bodys are available. As for being common with Krags, it is not common with Krags around here. I have seen it once in 25+ years ona sporter I bought for parts. I would say that it is a sign of abbusive ammun...

Joe,
The rear sight flips forward for a battle setting.
All parts were originally serial #ed to the rifle so it must have been replaced for some reason.
Not real sure on the cleaning rod, maybe a squad cleanig kit with shared handle. Maybe Nord will check in soon and help us out.
Let us ...

Re: Rear sight alignment

I use 40 gr. IMR 4350 and Hornady 220 gr rn. they come very close to military veloicity and performance. I like the Hornady because they seem to have a more round nose contour than others. My dad uses Sieras though with similar results, so I would say that any 220 rn would serve your purpose.
A ...

Re: Rear sight alignment

How big is your target backer board? The diffrence in the trajectory of 180 over 220 could have you shooting over the board. Your after market sight being set for the 180's and the military sight graduated for 220's is likely the problem. Reloading 220's to aproxamatly military specs has worked well...

Re: norwegian 1895 carbine questions

Hello Rick,
Hopefully Nord will check in here soon and see your post as he usually has good info on Norwegians. I can tell you that 5,843 M1895 Cavalry Carbines were produced. Although officialy approved in 1895 production didn't begin until 1898. 750 were produced in 1906 the final year of produ...
