Re: Want To Put An Unusual Barrel On A Krag
Sounds like a whole lot of work for near zero gain. I'm not an engineer or machinist but it seems like there could be a problem with bolt/bore longitunal alignment if it ain't close to being right or exact. Just spit balling. I'm probably way off. Maybe you should let the Krag be a Krag and call it ...

Doesn't look like that to me. Pipe smoker and Shorty are both looking at the camera.

I saw that, too. I believe it is a function of the paper tearing a bit larger since the panel behind it is a 6 inch shot out hole.

RUAG 7.5 Swiss dinmensions
Yes, Yes. I know. I'll get back to .30-40 in a month or so. This is for the Stein Man up in the forbidden lands to the North. I measured a new batch of brass and I got 1.797/8 at the shoulder using a .400 comparator and 2.180/1 for the case length. My chamber is around 1.807/8 which means the should...

Re: New Member
Hello, would like to take the time to introduce myself. I'm a retired NYPD Officer and Veteran, living in Southwest Virginia. I'm new to the forum and have registered to learn a bit about these fantastic rifles. I only own one Krag at the moment Its a 1899 carbine, with a 359xxx serial no. Probably...

The great thing about reproductions is you don't have to worry about tearing it up or abusing it.

Re: 7.5x55 Swiss - A study in brass
I was firing this batch and stuffing them back in the box without an individual lookie see. I found one that was a frog hair away from case failure, a second one starting down that road, and a dozen more with faint rings lining up on deck. This brass is now safely in the scrap bucket and one hundred...

Re: 7.5x55 Swiss - A study in brass
I was able to get to the range today. We are in a period of global warming at the moment which comes on the heels of some global cooling three weeks ago. We have 70-72 degrees today. The distance was one hundred yards with my standard loading. I had fifty-seven cartridges so I used the seven as sigh...
