Hunting Season is fast approaching!
Screenshot_20210807-072614_Gallery.jpg I'm getting ready for the season! Saw these two yesterday, they had better be careful if I happen to have a Krag with me in November. I'm planning on using my Krag Carbine for a black bear this fall, September 15th is the start and I'll post a picture if I'm s...

Re: Fixing a Krag follower
I'll have to apply some light grease to mine. Thanks for the tip, after full dissasembly and cleaning of my rifles I was looking for wear points and was curious if any parts wear out in this magazine, with some grease applied to this it should reduce wear significantly. This magazine system is so un...

Re: New Rifle and Carbine
Thank you BR for that information, it does have those crescents going all the way up the forend on the left side.. Comparing it to both my known black walnut stocks the grain does seem much more distinct, and along with the lighter color that made me first suspect it could be. With these other disti...

Re: New Rifle and Carbine
I was only able to shoot one 5 shot group at 50 yards standing today, but wow the handling and point ability of that carbine is out of this world, I'll still use my rifles, but this one has became my favorite. Here is that group, set to the lowest sight setting with my 221 gr cast bullet load, so it...

Re: A pair of Krag Krimes!
I was thinking this seller maybe have wanted the ability to sell it on eBay, however I very much hope there was some flaw or other reason this reciever was demilled. Although in that case I likely would have drilled through the bottom locking lug and welded a pin to prevent it ever being usable and ...

Re: A pair of Krag Krimes!
I also noticed that 1896 on ebay, I sure hope this seller did not do this so he would be able to sell the barrel without removing it from the receiver. One less Krag out there is not something I'm happy to see, let alone a 1896 receiver.

Re: New Rifle and Carbine
I'm with you there Whig, when I found out the front sight hole was too big I decided since I had to modify a blade I would go with a reproduction, I couldn't bring myself to modify an original part, I also try not to support ebay sellers and others who break up good Krags for parts. This really jumb...

Re: New Rifle and Carbine
The 1898 Rifle is 468193, the 6 is stamped deeply making it look like a 8 in every picture I try to take. Here is the inside of the Carbine stock, it's dark from all the oil over the years,
Thanks Whig! Krags sure are addicting!- Sat Jul 31, 2021 8:45 pm

Re: New Rifle and Carbine
Some more pictures of the carbine, it may be Italian walnut? Not sure I just know it's significantly more yellow than my other Krags, the handguard on it that would have been replaced when the sight was updated is also much darker than the stock, what do you guys think? Here are a few more pictures ...
