Re: Help with evaluation please

Those M1896 carbine hand guards are so fragile, I have repaired the front wood ring on a couple myself through fabrication. I wouldn't care if yours were original or not! I'd buy them and use them!

Good luck. Nice pieces. How much do you want for each?

Re: Springfield Research Service 4 Volumes

There are definitely unknowns out there waiting to be discovered! Don't ever think otherwise or the search is over for most of us!<br /><br />Can't imagine how many will continue to trickle in discovered in an attic or closet for generations. People die who have accumulated firearms over years and e...

Re: Springfield Research Service 4 Volumes

<r>Frank started, because he had so much interest in research information on Springfield Armory military arms, a quarterly newsletter called the Springfield Research Newsletter. These newsletters contained many listings, pictures and data on Krag rifles and carbines. Readers would send in questions ...

I cracked up when I saw it! Had to copy the picture. I'd love to know more about it but never did find out anything.

Love it!

Re: 30-40 krag rifle sn: 152416

<r>Hi, Rap.<br /><br />You haven't given much info about your Krag or any pictures but I am attaching a couple pictures from the KCA website that show different Krag sights. Yours might be the Model 1898 sight or a variation of such with the three notches in the rear. We would love to see pictures o...

Re: Original 1898 carbine or not?

You have a great Krag carbine, however it got this way, and can be proud of owning it. The M1896C rear sight is a fantastic part of this carbine. Much rarer than a lot of people realize. Many authentic arsenal M1896 carbines need the authentic sight. You can't find them for sale and if you ever see ...
