Yea, I didn't think it was an 1898 but for the low bid, I'll take another Model 1899 carbine with a correct rear sight!
If I get one cheap, maybe I'll sell it to Paul (at no profit!) to get him to join the Krag carbine club. He's needed one for a loooong time!!

Re: Something You Can't Unsee
Did my joke cartoon thread get highjacked?? Nice discussion. But, one factor that may be being overlooked with the Trump issue. I don't think this egotistical powerhouse could have ever gotten this far without significant spiritual guidance and support. He has lots and lots of prayers supporting him...

Re: Amoskeag Auction
Very true, low bids. Carbines SN: 1405 AND 1545 I currently have the high bids for. I'm not bidding real high because I don't need to add more regular carbines to my collection but I don't like to see apparent good ones go for too low money. I do suspect they will be bid much higher by onsite bidder...

I do agree that Photoshop was used to alter this picture. That basket on the front of the bike doesn't look like it belongs there and was added!

Re: My purchases in the last 72 hours

Pictures below: Upper two pictures, top one is reproduction, bottom one is genuine. Reverse in bottom two pictures. Hope your...

Re: Gun Shows and events
I've used that laugh myself at many gun shows. That's why I rarely go anymore. Have a nice Sunday!

Re: Gun Shows and events
Are prices good enough for you to buy anything or is everything high like most gun shows?

Used to go to these shows with my dad when I was a kid. Haven't been for decades.

High Serial Number
I know Dick has Krag rifle serial number 482440 and I own a sporter with serial number 482709. I just found a Krag Model 1898 rifle for sale online with serial number 488188. (And those are "8"s.) (Not buying it!) Highest known serial number, if I have my details correct, is 499036 (Mallor...
