I like them too, found a mannlicher stock for the 03 Springfield a while back but haven’t found a sporterized donor for it yet.

Looks good. The Krag makes a good scout rifle. Handy and easy to cycle. I don’t guess it makes the weight requirement and it doesn’t use a box mag but so what. Like the one that I built. I added a cheek pad/pouch that puts my eye in the exact spot that it needs to be.

If you are using an aftermarket handguard without any holes get a couple mauser clips to experiment with. Thats what I've used on two builds so far. Had no idea it was a mortal sin to alter a handguard. Hope that only applies to Krags because I’ve chopped up a few for my various builds, M1a’s, ‘03s, 03a3s, but NO Krag handguards.

Nice work on the stretch. I had to use a scrap .22 stock to semi stretch my school rifle build. Would have been a lot easier with the replacement forend.

I managed to jbweld the mauser clips to the walnut without welding the bbl and stock all together. Hopefully get it sanded to match the stock profile tonight and stain tomorrow.
