OK, I stand corrected then.
It IS nice, isnt it! Sharp with no wear to the edges.
If i had a nice 1896 barreled receiver, id be tempted to get it just for the wood.

Re: Italian Walnut 1896 stock and hand guard
I think its Italian Walnut.
My 1896 also sports an unmarked field replacement stock.
Unmarked except for an inspectors initial behind the trigger guard. Just like mine.

Re: Krag Carbine
I don't know how much you have in your altered carbine, but if it isn't much, you ought to think about selling it to a collector who knows what parts are needed and has access to them.
They will be expensive.
Properly brought back to original configuration, the carbine will never be worth...

I remember sending downloads to guys who then sent downloads to others.
Bill wouldve thought that was a good idea. He probably does now.

Something Bill Mook gave me

Re: Quite a Price for a Nice Condition Krag Bayonet
Crazy bidding war and things got out of hand.
No, the bayonet isn't worth more because of the date. However it IS a nice bayonet and in my opinion $250.00 to $300.00 would be tops if the scabbard had all of the bluing.
