Re: M1882 trapdoor parts L&G December auction, lot 37
I won Lot 13, some cool stuff in that auction. For what it's worth most of those parts are from Bill Rutters collection. I think there was an 1882 breach block in that auction. Sorry l know that doesn't help you much.

Very nice find, that was the same weekend as the Weaton Civil War show. You sure can't complain about the price it's nice to get a deal now and then.
My two 92/96 rifles are in the 21,000 and 6,000 range if i remember correct. Congratulations

Re: My thoughts on DCM - Krag paperwork
I have 3 or 4 original "Prics List of Supplis" sold through the DCM. The one that came with my Krag rifle is dated 1929. It only lists cut down rifles to carbine length. 22 inches fitted with a 1903 front sight assembly, at Benicia only. $3.50. It sounds to me like your grandpa may have do...

Re: My thoughts on DCM - Krag paperwork
I just think stuff like that is so cool, its to bad document's like that didn't stay with the gun. I messed up big time in this grouping of firearms from this family. There was a DCM Krag cut to carbine length with paper work from Benicia Arsenal, can't remember if it had the sn. written on the pape...

Re: Opinions lessons ? Gun broker auction
I have to make one correction the rifle was bought in 1929 not 1920.
George also bought a 1922 Ml NRA rifle, that was listed in the DCM sales book. Got paper work and the original target it was shot at. He also bought an extra clip for the rifle, got that also.

Re: Opinions lessons ? Gun broker auction
Thats a good question, I checked all my SRS books I cant remember if I sent the number to Wayne Gagner. I am a member of the U.S. Marshall Arms Collectors. I do have the small DCM Sales book but that covers 03's and the 1922 22 cal. rifles.

Re: Opinions lessons ? Gun broker auction
Can't wait to see your DCM Krag rifle, if there is any interest i can start a new post. My DCM Krag is a 92/96 modified rifle, sn. 21404 no SRS hit. The stock is not a modified 92 type stock but a standard 1896 type. No cartouche or P poof, l have all the letters he wrote to Rock Island Aresenal abo...

Re: Opinions lessons ? Gun broker auction
Looks like a nice rifle but I think it's an arsenal refinish. Description states it's dated 1902, it's dated 1900. With a 1902 rear sight from what I know most 1902 sights were issued to state National Guard units. Regulars, Army that is stayed with the 1901 sight. CS Arms had a very nice 1898 that ...
