Thank you everyone! I am in love...it was love at first sight when I saw her in the rack! I had to have her. A great starter Krag!

And ..... My ammo is finally here! So...along with the Type 38 Arisaka..which I also ordered ammo for...it is off the range... hopefully this weekend! So excited to fire these two beauties!

I will let you all know how it goes...

I've always been curious about the accuracy of any rifle when the barrel was constrained by a metal shroud or jacket completely surrounding it. Would seem to negate a lot of careful stock bedding.

From what I've read, the jacketed barrels are quite accurate. The jacket and air space isolate the barrel from the pressure and variables of a swelling & shrinking wood stock.

The barrel is free to expand, as it heats, and contract, as it cools, through the collar at the front of the jacket.

The system is almost like a free-floated barrel.

Always drives me crazy when I see pretty guns displayed on or against cement, brick, gravel or stone walls. Kinda like when they do the sword bend test on Forged in Fire. One little bump and a major oops. Btw, good looking rifle.
