Death of a Krag

Post by butlersrangers »

This is not a criticism of the Norwegian owner, but maybe an ugly glimpse of our future.

This model 1894 Norwegian Krag has a "sewer-pipe bore" and replacement barrels have become a rarity in Europe.
The rifle is all registered, and while intact, was a barrier to the owner having a replacement rifle.

He has 'parted it out' and will surrender the action, barrel, and bolt, to authorities, to open the avenue to get 'paperwork' for a replacement arm.

The owner (on another forum) is contemplating the sale of the permissible parts.

I really hate mindless Government Overreach and Regulation!

Maybe I have no standing in the matter, but I just feel real pissed off!

Could he have a new custom barrel made? Or is it legal to ship him a barrel, and if so, is there still time before he sells everything off?

It is done.
IMO - In some countries and cultures, the citizens are far too compliant with official 'dumb' policies and give their governments way too much power.

This is the case of France for example, finished the spirit of 1789..The government wants to methodically eliminate sport shooting and collecting of firearms.
