'Kab37' - A while back I had trouble with a Krag 'magazine-gate' (door).

A lot of the resistance was caused by galling of the gate/follower-spring 'tip' and the cam on the follower-arm.

I have 'bumped' this old post and it can be viewed under the heading: U.S. Military Krags - "Fixing a Krag follower".

This old thread may be helpful to you.
