What big ears your rifle's front sight has! Pretty neat!

The 1904 Mauser-Verguiero was rebuilt in 8x57 about 1937, after Portugal bought the 98K Mauser to replace it. They are nice, really well-made rifles, but like every other bolt action with the handle in front of the receiver bridge, they are not very well suited to rapid fire. And they are bad gas handlers should you pierce a primer.

I gotta get me one of these. Im a sucker for a Mauser. I just picked up an 1891 Argentine Mauser a couple of weeks ago. Sweet rifle in a caliber I already load for.

My Madsen has a split bridge, but I have long arms, so I haven't had any problem with rapid fire. That's a really nice rifle to look at!
