Joseph Hosmer

Post by butlersrangers »

I missed the marker at Concord, Ma., naming Dick's ancestor, Abel Hosmer, who died at Concord Bridge.

I did photograph a couple of displays naming Lt. Joseph Hosmer.

I'm guessing Joseph is also a relative of Dick Hosmer?

Yes, a fairly close cousin to my ancestors.

BTW, Abel was a cousin also, not a direct ancestor - and he was only 19 when killed - no children recorded.

As I understand it, his name is on the "other" marker (a large obelisk) closer to the bridge, not French's iconic work.
