Welcome to the forum, Travelworn. The other guys will be along in a bit.

I believe the file size limit is one meg. So you need to find the file size. I use a Panosonic camera that is set for 4meg size files so I have resize my gun and ammo porn pics.

Open your picture in MS Paint then go to File -> Re-size. Once the window opens type in the amount of reduction as a percentage. Such as 100 to 78. Then the most important action is to SAVE AS as another file name to keep your original intact. Also, the forums software only likes jpeg files so no bmp or png extensions

If it is still too large you can repeat the process on the saved file.

Welcome to the KCA. We do look forward to seeing your sporter.
Cameras today take huge photos with the enhanced resolution and budget websites have only so much storage and bandwidth so the size needs to be restricted.
The camera that I take the most photos with is 5 megapixal and the size of the photo is fairly large depending on how much I crop out, lighting, and such. On these photos I open by right clicking on them and then open them with paint brush (old windows 7 machine, the newer computer at the house has a button that just says edit)
Anyway when you get the edit or paintbrush open there is a selection for "Resize" try 50% and then save (save as) the photo with a different name. I put RS at the end for resized. I then check the resized and saved photo with properties to see if I reduced it enough. If I did not I delete that attempt then reopen the original by right clicking on it again and trying a smaller percentage. Keep going till you get an acceptable size. If you have a photo editor cropping out empty space will make the photo smaller before you reduce the size. I used to edit my feet out but I leave them in occasionally to maintain my membership in the "Feet of the KCA Club".

Looks like Culpepper beat me to it. Apple computers have a different procedure, and if I remember the explanation offered by Dick correctly the editor shows you the size result before you save it. So a little bit of trial and error can be eliminated.
