I found several U.S. army posters at a garage sale this weekend. They were printed in 1956. The price back then was 20 cents each. They are nicely detailed. This one shows the relief of peking witb lots of Krag rifles in action. The trumpeteer was awarded the medal of honor for his actions that day. On close examination the soldiers shooting prone have their sights set for long range work with their Krags. I might have to frame this one.

I love this series of U.S. Military posters. I have always found them inspirational.

I like the Peking Foreign Legation poster. I remember seeing it as a kid in the powder-magazine display at Fort Wayne (Detroit).

Maybe my favorite poster from this series depicted the battle line of grey uniformed U.S. Troops at the War of 1812 "Battle of Chippewa".
After a mistake in uniform identification, a British Officer suddenly exclaims: "That's not militia, Those are regulars, by God!"

Lots of tough battles were fought in the Niagara Peninsula!

I wish the set of 73 was still available at the original 1954 price. For $14.60 plus postage i could decorate my den with some nice artwork.

I have this poster, also. My great grandfather was there in Company I of the 14th Infantry Regiment. He was also a bugler.

Here is the writing from the Krag Collectors Association articles if you want to know more about this scene and what lead up to it from my great grandfather's standpoint. The pictures didn't show up in the appendix, but the main story is there.

A friend had given me a copy of "The Story of the War of 1898" by Peter Fenelon Collier that contains many color and black/white illustration plates.

Unfortunately the copy I received has extensive damage and is in bad repair with many of the color illustrations missing.

eBay has a few listed from $40 to $400+ if your interested in occurring a copy.

As always buyer beware when dealing with sellers on eBay.
