Canadian Aggression

Post by butlersrangers »

Detroit prior to '1812 War of Canadian Aggression', from the south.
U.S. General Hull was defeated at the River Canard, out maneuvered, besieged, and lost his nerve.

I don't think the U.S. Army has ever had a fighting victory on Michigan soil.
I don't know what it says about Michigan, but we ultimately seem to do better at the bargaining table, than the battlefield.

I've always thought Historic Fort Wayne was a pretty neat place! Dad took us there a few times when I was growing up. They used to have a couple tanks that you could actually climb into (M4 Sherman's I think). When dad went into the army in the mid-1950s, he was inducted at Fort Wayne!
