I don't own any examples, but, the 'slip-on' Major Parker front-sight blades, that were made at Springfield Armory, are a very interesting collectible.
These provided a temporary 'taller' front-sight blade to facilitate shorter range shooting with issue Krag rifles and carbines.
Today, I noticed a similar adapter that must have been made for the early 1903 Springfield rifle.
This sight/adapter is "out of stock", but, still pictured on the Numrich Arms - Gun Parts site. (I was not previously aware of this item).
