For Sale: a superb 1898 Springfield Armory Krag-Jorgensen rifle, professionally "sporterized." One of the nicest you'll find, and not at all like some of the hack-jobs you see out there!
.30-40 caliber. Serial #264050. Replacement walnut stock with expert checkering on wrist and forearm, sling swivels (sling included), Winchester recoil pad, and antique ivory or bone inlay at the forearm bbl screw. Original Krag bbl reblued and shortened to 24", Lyman ramp sight installed, bright shiny bore with sharp rifling and no pittings or dark areas. Receiver reblued, Lyman micrometer peep sight installed (includes two apertures - target and hunting), magazine cut-off still present. Butter-smooth bolt action functions flawlessly.
This rifle has been in storage for many years, and appears to have endured very light usage. A real beauty!
