Reloading recipes for my Danish Krag

Post by gls5493 »

Would anyone share their favorite recipes for reloading 8X58R for a Danish Krag? I have an M89 with RCBS dies on their way and some brass I got from Buffalo Arms. I have plenty of IMR 4350, 4895 and 4031 so loads with those powders would be great. I have seen the conversations on various sites about Rolling Block vs. Krag pressures and understand the limitations. I am just looking for some pet loads for my Krag. Thx.

Hello,

I have been reloading for my Danes for many years now. I have shot these loads in my rifles, carbines, sporters and my sniper rifle. I have had good luck and consistancy with both.

1) 50 grains IMR 4895 220 grain round nose bullet

2) 45 grains IMR 4895 175 grain round nose bullet

I use CCI magnum primers. I have use brass reformed from 45-70, 7.62x54R, 8x56R

I hope this gives you something to go on.
Let me know how they shoot for you.

Best regards,
Tom

I have been very satisfied with the 8x56R brass for a number of years now.
