This advertisement appeared in a 1956 "Guns Magazine", that I was reading through 'online', today.
The price looks good, but, I was eight years old, when it ran. So, the prices were more significant than they appear.
(IIRC - My Dad was making about $6,000 a year, with overtime. Our house cost $12,000. A new Ford Fairlane cost about $2,000 and most people in our neighborhood had to buy 'used' cars. There was also a bit of a 'Recession' in the economy. Oh, ... and Davy Crockett was King of the Wild Frontier)!

And not just California, but North Hollywood, California. That has to be real close to Hollywood. 8-)
