Krags And Underwear!?

Post by Knute1 »

Not sure what this guy is totally talking about from the Georgia National Guard in October, 1894. There may be some other writings elsewhere that may make things more obvious.

It appears, Captain Kivan believed the Krag sling, being anchored to a butt-swivel, instead of at the front of the trigger-guard, would pose problems with 'the manual of arms' and the wearing of a pack or haversack, (for extra socks and underwear).

How in 'Heaven's Name' are you going to carry a Rice Shelter-Half and a slung Krag?

Ahah. But of course. I should have realized that all along - not. Thanks for clearing this up for me. It sure put a burr under Captain Kivan's saddle.
