An English writer wrote a book "Two Winters in Norway". In it is an account of time spent with Colonel Krag with text about the design that I have found of interest on pages 155 to 164.
There is also some writing about the Konsberg factory on pages 78 to 80.

Re: Time Spent With Colonel Krag
Neat find, Knute!
Several mentions of Col. Johannes Krag's inventiveness and innovations in the realm of Military Winter Campaigning and Survival.
The text suggests the urgency of Norway being prepared for defensive warfare (and having allied with Britain) in the event of Sweden contesting Norge Independence.
