1st post, please have patience ;)
Have just received an 1898 model rifle that was cut down to carbine length :'(
has a 1902 rear sight(in excellent condition) in place of the 1898 type. The "gunsmith" who butchered the rifle made a front sight which wasn't too bad but it is either too short or the rifle needs it's orginal sight. It shoots about 20" high at 100 yds. I don't want to file the notch in the 1902 if the correct rear sight will solve the problem. So, here's my request ;)
Anybody have an 1898 rifle rear sight they want to trade for a 1902? or at least some type of "arrangement" so I can get the proper sight.
