Yet another newbie who just got krag fever. My question has two parts--were rear sight upgrades normally done at Springfield, or was this a depot level repair, and when returned--if the stock needed to be replaced, was it normal for it to be re-cartouched with the rebuild date (i.e. an early 1898 rifle with a 1903 stock stamp)?
