As I recall its number 35748, made in Feb 1896. 7 digits off a known Roughrider carbine. (Which is meaningless, I know, but it does have barrel pitting under the wood line consistant with a tropical environment.) In any case it is wearing 1899 wood. I believe that the stock was probaly lightly sanded at some point as there are no markings on it and the edges of the finger grooves are not sharp. It it wearing an 1896 rifle rear sight and the correct original handguard for this sight, which has not been sanded. The finish is a smooth grey patina overall.
Does anyone have any idea on what I could get for this carbine?
