I was wondering. Are there any plans of turning this plattform into a secure https site?

just askin'.

The simple answer is yes. When is not certain but hopefully soon. I am told that on the last up date there were some issues that still need to be resolved. I am not a computer person so I can't elaborate, but we are working on it.

For those of us on the outskirts of technology, what will this mean to have a secure site?

HTTPS - the "S" means you have a "secure" connection from your computer to the web server. With the current technology there is encryption and it ensures no one is rerouting your connection through another server to steal your data.

I actually know that but my question is why do we at KCA need a secure site? Thanks.

I believe KCA has actually been hacked... and more than once. If I'm not mistaken, a secure site will prevent this. (If I'm wrong, then I apologize)

Thanks. I guess that is something to try to avoid.

So of the forums that I visit the most, Jouster, Mil Surps and 5madfarmers are not https. Gunboard's and rimfire central are.
We have had spam posts in the past. I don't have the tech knowledge to know if that is being hacked or not.
We will address this when life gives us time. If any one feels uncomfortable I urge you to do what you feel is best with no hard feelings here.

Jouster has been hacked several times... and even had a trojan horse virus attached once!

I think I was referring to spam posts (I think someone would have to hack their way in to do that... but again, if I'm wrong, then I apologize). FWIW, I am always loyal to KCA. You all are like family to me!!!
