Finally found an 1898 safety for my rifle. The problem: how do you install it. I read in one book to disassemble the safety that you make sure it is vertical and then rap it on the forward face. I assumed to reinstall you rapped it on the "back" face but no luck.
I have taken the bolt apart several times so I'm pretty conversant.
Help!
