1895 Norwegian  Cavalry Carbine

Post by Arctic_Fox »

Hi there. I just bought a Krag carbine that looks great but is not all matching. Also there are some proof marks I've not seen before. 1902 6803 stamped on the action, along with a gothic K and crown, and a C over a B . The numbers match on the barrel and bolt. The barrel length is 20.5 inches, rear sight to 2200M, trigger guard has a sling ring on the left, and the rifleing is good. The stock is a beautiful golden yellow with some tiger stripe, varnished and unmatching 9456. The barrel channel has the usual military weight reduceing milled out areas, but one is a very short 1.75 inches long. A steel lug was factory set in the centre bearing of channel. A capital K with something above it was also stamped here. Regretably this forestock only extends 8 inches beyond the action, with no band and the rod hole wooden dowled closed. Finally this carbine has a round bolt handle and it's 6.5x55 . Any technical or historical information on this rifle will be very useful. Thank you. The Arctic Fox, Canada.
