Well Rob the news is not good! The Krag Cadet Rifle was a full size Krag with a 30 " barrel. It sounds like your friend has a cut down of some sort. I hope he didn't pay a lot for it. I can't say that I have ever heard of a Krag Cadet "Type II" could you tell me where this info came from?

Re: Cadet Type II
Ned is right on the money but I would like to add a few points of info concerning the configuration of this weapon.
1. The stock is grooved for a ramrod.
2. The upper band has a groove where the ramrod goes through.
3. The buttplate has no cap.
4. The lower band is solid with no provision made for a sling swivel and is held in place by a carbine type spring.
5. There is no butt swivel.
BUY-THE-WAY, Rob........what's a KJ?
