96 carbine and 98 rifle serial number help, please

Good morning. Long time lurker, brand new member.

I have an early, 1895 marked 96 carbine and a first-year 1898 rifle. I have SRS volumes I and II and neither gun is listed in it by serial number, though the carbine is within a couple numbers of some that went to the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry. Would someone be willing to look the numbers up in an updated SRS edition, just in case either gun is one that was listed later? Thank you very much!
