Re: Coleman lanterns
Now THAT is pretty nifty!!!
Re: Coleman lanterns
i didnt give much information about the arc lantern , they were made by coleman from 1914 to 1925 and called the #316 arc lantern . most folks think of coleman lanterns as camping gear ? but when these things were first made they wernt for camping , in fact they made lamps before lanterns and these lamps were to be used in your house so some of them are pretty fancy looking .... there are lantern collectors and then there are LAMP LOONS i fall in to the later category , i have lots of lanterns but the lamps are just beautifull , many of them used glass lamp shades and i love to find the old original glass lamp shades for my lamps here .... the break easy so i think you can imagine not many have survived ..... here is a link to some of my lamp shades . http://www.colemancollectorsforum.com/post/Steves-Glass-Lamp-Shade-Collection-5852033

That's a neat collection and interesting history! I never knew that Coleman's started out as Home Lighting.
I've always had a soft spot for Grease and Carbide Miner's Lamps.
