This list of Commandants spans the period during which the U.S. Krag-Jorgensen was manufactured, as well as, immediately before and after.
Of greatest note is Col. Alfred Mordecai. (He should not be confused with his very famous, 'like named', father).

Re: Commandants of Springfield Armory
During the period of the U.S. Krag, as our Service Arm, there were three successive "Chief(s) of Ordnance - U.S. Army":
General Daniel Webster Flagler (1891 to March 29, 1899, death).
General Adelbert Rinaldo Buffington (1899 to 1901, retired).
Maj. General William Crozier (1901 to 1918).

"Inspector of Arms"
S.W.P. - Samuel W. Porter was the (civilian) "Master Armorer" at Springfield Armory. He died on June 18, 1894, of diphtheria.
The "Master Armorer" title was apparently no longer used.
J.S.A. - Joseph Sumner Adams, the "Assistant Foreman of the Assembling Room", inspected finished arms from June, 1894 to 1904. He continued to do some inspecting duties through WW1. (I have been unable to find his picture).
