Yes....that one is a carbine.

'Dave A' - How long is the barrel on your 1st Krag? The photos show it to have a very pretty Italian walnut stock with an attractive 'tiger stripe'.

Barrel is full 30" but top handguard is gone. Bubba!

You might contact the 'parts suppliers' in KCA Classifieds and see if they can supply an original 1901 sight hand-guard in Italian walnut. Also, reproduction hand-guards tend to be light in color and may be easier to finish to match your lovely stock.
