Well Johnny what do we have today?
Well CJ. Today's gun is a krag. It has a 1903 Springfield front sight and a 1902 rear rifle on a 22 inch barrel to the bolt face. it is mounted in an 1896 carbine stock with a saddle ring on the left. However, the ring on the bar is missing.
What does it say on the side, Johnny? The guys want to know.
Good catch! It has the typical US Springfield. To the left of that is 1896 and to the right is the serial number that reads 34xxx
So what is your opinion on this?
Some time in the distant past it may have been in rifle configuration then some one changed a bunch of items. Beyond that, it is what it is. Nothing more.
