I took your advice and posted on that site - not a single reply.

Apparently we have more knowledgeable people "here on this site" - and I thank them all for the help.

Not sure why they haven't responded yet. I was looking forward to what they might say. I think the stock conversions was done in 1908 if I read it right in another book I just got.

You might be patient sometimes every one is on vacation. I gave a guess on gun value of a sporter here once, when a post went unanswered for a couple of days. Was not even close, and the more knowledgeable gave better answers when they got back.

Maybe the same over there.

Hello all,

Thanks for the reply.

I have seen comments about an 1895 Cavalry Carbine, an 1896 Artillery / Engineer Carbine, and an 1897 Cavalry Carbine.

Were there 3 types of Carbines?
