Interesting Danish family album

Post by butlersrangers »

This Danish family appears very service oriented. Pictures must date from around 1900-1910.

Pity to see such a nice heirloom for sale on ebay!ImageImageImage

Not danish, but norwegian. Norwegian Krags and the army uniforms are the 1894 model. Last pic. is a guy wearing the uniform of the royal guard.

P.S. Most family albums from the periode have lots of pics. like this. I notice the name "Hevne" on the bottom of one pic. It's part of the photographers adress, and it's in the middle part of Norway. Not to far from me actually.

P.P.S. I found a pic. with a similar logo in the family album. The Photografer is called Olaf Sdahl & co , Stjrdal og Hevne. He was in buisness from 1893 - 1937.

"Bernt" - Thank you for catching my error. (I was 'close', considering, Seller has it identified as "German"). ::)

No slight was intended. Even with the poor visibility of the rifles, I should have noticed the Stock Tip was a Norwegian model 1894!

A pity this album got away from its Norwegian Family.

Attached: Norwegian Palace Guard with female relatives. He has the same belt buckle, you mentioned. (I found this photo misidentified as "Italian Soldier").Image

As many are, I've always been fascinated by pictures of families and especially the military from bygone era's. Having just watched "The King's Choice", these photographs especially so.
