Stripper clips

Post by BrianB »

Howdy everyone, this time I've got a question about stripper clips. I've heard rumors and traces of people manufacturing curved sorts of charging clips for US and Norwegian krags, but have been unable to find any clear indications of any for sale. If anyone knows anything about who might be able to provide these, or has any plans for their design, as always, any and all help will be appreciated!

Of course this kind of charger might work better and is easy to make with simple hand tools -

'Parashooters' neat video shows an approach that applies a "Scandinavian-type Charger" to the U.S. Krag.

Norwegian and Danish shooting clubs utilized such (Charger) devices in shooting matches.

A U.S. inventor, Parkhurst, devised a 'clip' somewhat similar to a Mauser 'stripper-clip' and a clip guide that could be attached to the Krag.

A very limited number of these were made and tested by the U. S. Ordnance Department, around 1902-03.

The Parkhurst Device was tried at a time, when a new rifle, (The 1903 Springfield), was being developed and about to be adopted.

(p.s. KCA Member, Paul Steinmayer, was making Brass Krag Chargers, as shown in 'Parashooter's video. Family events have prevented his continuing to make them).ImageImageImage

Yes, I did manufacture chargers based on Parashooter's design, which he graciously allowed me to use. However, as Butlersrangers said, I'm unable to make any for the time being.

If circumstances change, and I'm able to resume production, I'll let everyone know.
