I'm speechless - all that is missing is the fur coat and pink Cadillac! :D :D :D

BR,
Is splicing some wood onto the stock out of the question? In the past we have seen some examples here on KCA. Most all were going to undo the "damage" even though a couple seemed to be well done. I have lived with my dad's 1917 Enfield so long that it looks good to me and is fast on lining up the scope, so the idea of spliced in wood does not bother me. Then there is always custom stock with a cheek piece. Rubber recoil pad is kind of handy so you can lean it against things without it sliding and falling.
Maybe I will post photos of the 2 Enfields one of these days.

FredC - People are free to do what they want to their property.
I did not want to permanently change a Krag stock.
I was looking for a pratical, simple, quick, inexpensive, and non-permanent solution, to meet a shooting need.
The 'Beartooth' slip-on appears that it will work for me and it is reversible.

Re: A cheek-piece solution?
As a kid on my first trip to the matches at Camp Perry in the mid 1970's with a straight prone stock Winchester Model 70 I could not hit anything. A couple old timers helped me out on the firing line by quickly fashioning a cheek piece from layers of cardboard cut from a C ration box and attached it to the stock with GI green 100 MPH tape. I learned that this is called a "Field Expedient" modification. It worked and I won a medal!

OK, since you are a minimalist I am going to assume this is not you with your new rifle.

I was hoping you would not be drinking coffee when you saw that high tech rifle. I could just see another keyboard biting the dust.
