Unsporterize?
Unsporterize?
I picked up a Krag :) yesterday that has had the stock cut down but still 30" barrel, front sight, etc. are unmolested. I'm evaluating returning it to military configuration. Of course, decent replacement stocks are outrageous. Anybody successfully graft on a replacement lower stock?

Many have done this with great success! Butlersrangers is someone you should talk to, as I've seen his work!

Another option. IIRC, CMP does offer some military replacement stocks.

Unfortunately, CMP does not offer Krag stocks. Boyds does, but you had better be a pretty good woodworker because you'll need to finish the stock!
Re: Unsporterize?
not seeing any Krag stocks on the Boyd website. I'll email and see if they still have them. Still looking at an original in a local pawn shop. When I get back in town I'll see if I can tempt him with a Garand trade.
Re: Unsporterize?
Just got the work from Boyds. No Krag stocks anymore. :'(

Not cheap but, close as I could find

No guarantee it will still be there when you go there.
