There is a nice video today on "Forgotten Weapons", showing an original 20 gauge "Forager Shotgun", that Springfield Armory built from 1881-1884, using 'bored-out' .50-70 barrels on adapted model 1873 stock & action.
Nice way to combat boredom and supplement rations at frontier posts by encouraging troops to do some Hunting and reload Brass shot-shells.

There is another good video today, on "Forgotten Weapons", covering the model 1899 Remington-Lee in .30 U.S.A. (.30-40).
