During a 1912-1913 Appropriations Bill Hearing, General Crozier was asked how many Krags the military had. During the questioning he was asked how many total there were including the new service rifle. But I believe that when Crozier was giving the numbers that he was addressing Krags only. The numbers he gave were "317,200 of the rifles and 36,286 carbines". He was later asked if the Krags were being sold. His answer was "We are trying to sell them.....we can only sell them in quantities to dealers for export".
