KRAG RIFLE BELTS AND COLT HOLSTER

Post by LauraPGranados »

I was planning on getting a belt & colt gun holster for my Krag rifle. Wanted to know if anyone has any experience with it. Thank you for the input!

'LauraPGranados' - Welcome to the KCA Forum.

What model or type of Colt do you need a holster for?

In the Krag era, the Infantry 'rank and file' usually did not carry handguns. The Krag ammo was carried in canvas Mills belts, (50 & 100 round versions), and in disposable cloth bandoleers.

Officers, Cavalry Troopers, and Artillerymen were more likely to be issued handguns. The Regulation Holsters, that I'm aware of, normally fit on a relatively narrow leather waist-belt.

Studying period photos may give an idea of the "look" you want to achieve.

S&S Firearms and 'What Price Glory' are a couple of internet vendors who carry good quality reproduction Mills Belt items.
