What were the original bore & groove tolerances?

(p.s. - Plywood has been around for a very long time).
I dunno BR — that photo is super high resolution. I remain skeptical — what kind of a soldier runs around without a sling? Is that sight correct for the 1917 time period?
Yeah plywood has been around for a bit — but it really didn’t take off until much later after WW I.
In 1928, the first standard-sized 4 ft by 8 ft (1.2 m by 2.4 m) plywood sheets were introduced in the United States for use as a general building material.Artists use plywood as a support for easel paintings to replace traditional canvas or cardboard.

Be skeptical, but, lots of old photographs have great focus and resolution.
I believe the Krag, in the photo you are questioning, is a model 1896. The rear-sight is a model 1896 sight.
