All three were built out of the Sierra book for 2000 fps. The Imr 4895 load was thirty-six grains. Sierra buit their data with a twenty-two inch barrel Krag. Didn't want to over do it.

Yeah I was on bags and a bench with geezer eyes. How do I hate that, let me count the ways. Black would help so I am going to grab a couple of super smokers or look on youtube for a field expedient version. Both the 4064 and the 4895 loads look promising but I will wait until the reproduction front blades come in from S&S firearms before I dink with this rifle. This would be a good two hundred yard gun if I can drop its nose.

I never really believed that blacking the sights would help... until I actually DID it. Now, I use a carbide "Soot" torch that I purchased at Camp Perry a couple years ago. Works amazingly well!!!
