Browning beaters.

Post by butlersrangers »

I have often gotten the most fun out of 'used' firearms, that didn't cost much, (especially guns with the ergonomics & reliability of designs by John Moses Browning).

Examples are a 9mm FN High Power, that was probably once an Israeli Police sidearm and a couple of commercial 1911 clones, that were made in the Philippines.

Some low-priced wood grips and removing a lanyard ring, made the H-P more to my liking.

New grips, re-staking a spring-tube, and a simpler safety gave a 'Rock Island Armory' 1911 a better feel and hiccup-free performance.

The 'American Tactical' 1911 just needed handsome grips, a GI Link and recoil-spring assembly to instill confidence.

Damn, these are accurate pistols to shoot, and reliable!

And I thought you were doing a brown finish on some beater guns. I got it now.

Fun accurate and reliable shooters. What's not to like?
