I'm sure our nation's legislators will take it upon themselves to spend taxpayer money investigating why this tragedy occurred and further regulate the industry. Our senators/representatives will probably determine that the accident was caused by a lack of diversity and legislate more DEI policies. The new policies will hopefully prevent an over abundance of 50 year old white guys currently dominating the submarine manufacturing industry.

Arrogant indifference to common expected standards of safety is the exact and precise cause of death to be noted beside the name of this now dead submersible owner and his customers. All in all, and entirely predictable result ... had he or anyone else paid attention to the submersible being used and the depths at which it was supposed to be safe for use. Merely lowering it on a cable of some sort and then pulling up the wreckage that would still have been attached would have told them all they needed to know. On board cameras would have told them even more about how the wreak would have felt for occupants. When Amelia Eaheart and navigator Fred J. The sensational media fails to report things concisely or properly assign responsibility.

The searchers did things very properly, logically, with 'managed risk' to avoid losing more lives.

The searchers knew there was likely an implosion and nothing to rescue.

In the event the implosion theory was wrong, the submersible vessel could have floated to the surface.
If so, the craft had to be located (in a large area) and 'opened' before five thrill-seekers were asphyxiated.

The media thrives on and encourages thrill-seekers and the antics of the rich & famous.
The media enjoys questioning and taking cheap shots at competent "Worker Bees", who are not really allowed to publicly defend themselves.
The media strives to keep a story going, the taxpayers fund the whole shit show, and very little light gets shone on the actual problem.
