You WERE being kind. Chuck, you are probably the most likable and helpful guy here. If you were feeling criticized, please don't!butlersrangers wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:50 pm The new member bought this parts Krag and asked for information.
I thought I was being kind and spent some time on my response. It was my gift to the new guy.

Just received 100 pieces of new Hornady take-down brass. . . already sized & primed, $1 each from Midsouth.

First of all, welcome to the forum! Glad you are here.
Your newly purchased carbine is gorgeous. I'd buy it in a heartbeat! No, it is not a perfect relic of the Krag era. So what? It's your rifle. Grab some ammunition and take your rifle to the range! Then ... when the time comes, head out to do some deer hunting! I have a extremely nice rebuilt Krag infantry rifle. It will be accompanying me when I head out to go deer hunting later this year. In the meantime, it will give hours of pleasure at the range. What's not to like! Sincerely. bruce.

You've got that right. . . about 12" at 100 yards. Great project to work on though.
