Krag Booklets

Post by butlersrangers »

Many of us have spent years studying the Krag-Jorgensen rifles and carbines of Denmark, the U.S. and Norway.

KCA members, as a group, likely have large and varied libraries on the subject.

The attached photos show three 'guide' booklets that are routinely for sale on eBay.
Personally, I have never viewed a copy of any of them and remain unaware of their merits and usefulness.

Is anyone familiar with any of these publications? Are any of these guides helpful to a 'Krag Rookie' and maybe of some use to an experienced hand?

(There is lots of 'garbage' and overpriced Krag related stuff on eBay. It is good to know if something is beneficial or just a ripoff/rehash).

I wonder why none of those have ever showed up in my Krag search I have set?

These have been around for years and inexpensive. They seem somewhat elementary for experienced collectors, like most of us. I don't think I need a pictorial of how to disassemble and clean a Krag. But, they really should be part of each of our collections of Krags and associated materials!
